Massage Therapy
Massage therapy is a hands-on manipulation of the soft tissues and joints of the body; specifically, the muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints to enhance a person’s health and well-being.
With prolonged treatment, massage therapy elicits therapeutic effects on all aspects of the body including the muscular, nervous and circulatory systems. Relaxation massage decrease your sympathetic nervous system which decreases heart rate, breathing rate and blood pressure. It also increases your immune system and generally decreases the effect of stress. Therapeutic massage techniques may also be very beneficial as they can decrease pain, scar tissue, built up fascia and increase Range of Motion as well as speed up recovery time from prior injury and prevent injury from occurring.
